Karolinska Institutet (KI) - Sweden

KI is one of Europe's largest medical universities, and Sweden's largest center for medical training and research. KI specializes especially in biomedical sciences and is also renowned around the world for the Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology. KI/Södersjukhuset (KI SÖS) is one of the clinical institutions of KI. Located at Stockholm Söder Hospital, KI/SÖS pursues research, research education and basic training for undergraduate medical students. The activities stretch over most of the clinical specialties and also include clinical epidemiology and experimental laboratory research. KI/SÖS is very active in developing innovative teaching and learning methods: simulations, skills labs, standardized patients (using actors and actresses as patients) and interprofessional team training. KI contributes to WP8, carrying out research activities in clinical context.
