TUS is the largest educational, research and production complex in Bulgaria with over 50 years of experience in training engineers. It participates in many international scientific organizations, CMEA and UNIDO projects, joint projects under the Tempus, Copernicus, CEEPUS, Leonardo, HERCULES COST and ERASMUS programmes. TUS is carrying out research in educational innovations; project based learning, e-Learning, communicational and collaborative issues and its implementation in training practice.

TUS contributes to the research and development work in WP6, conducting pilots and dissemination tasks.
